Henry Nana Boakye, alias Nana B, the national convener of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has revealed the identity of the Supreme Court judge widely referred to at a meeting where the Attorney General, Godfred Dame, met and issues discussed a high-profile financial crimes trial with a suspect.

In a social media post on May 27, 2024, Nana B stated that the Supreme Court judge in question was Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi.

The AG confirmed through his spokesperson (on May 26, 2024) the meeting with Richard Jakpa, the third suspect in the ongoing ambulance purchase trial involving minority leader Cassiel Ato Forson.

Wilberforce Mensah said the meeting took place at the residence of an unnamed High Court judge, a cousin of the suspect.

He added that Dame was unaware that Jakpa would appear at the meeting in April 2024 and that although they discussed matters relating to Jakpa’s plea offer, at no point did the AG request Jakpa’s assistance in involving Ato Forson.

His message alleged that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) party’s claim that it had evidence to prosecute the AG for unethical and criminal conduct amounted to an audio recording of the said meeting.

“We have been reliably informed that NDC is trying all possible means to maliciously ‘manipulate’ the said tape to exclude parts of the conversation and in particular the voice of the Supreme Court judge, whose invitation the AG has politely declined honored.

“The full recording will show that the AG never asked Richard Jakpa to distort his testimony in any way as alleged by the NDC,” he added.

Meanwhile, the NDC has dedicated its Moment of Truth press conference scheduled for today (May 28, 2024) to providing controversial evidence of the AG’s misdeeds.

Details of the event can be found below:

On the dishonorable and discredited trial of Ato Forson:

The NDC since the beginning of the prosecution of Ato Forson has applied every rule in the book to court, frustrate, manipulate and shortchange Ato Forson for the colossal financial loss Ghana has caused at the expense of much needed emergency health services for the Ghanaians. population.

The latest in this charade is the claim that he is in possession of damning evidence which has turned out to be a recording of Richard Jakpa at a meeting to which the AG was invited by a Supreme Court judge, Justice Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi, without Richard Jakpa had been informed. gift.

We have been reliably informed that NDC is using all possible means to maliciously ‘manipulate’ the said tape to exclude parts of the conversation and in particular the voice of the Supreme Court judge, whose invitation the AG has honored as a courtesy .

The full recording will show that the AG never asked Richard Jakpa to distort his testimony in any way as alleged by the NDC.

Justice, they say, must be done even if the sky falls, and no plans by the NDC and its affiliates will absolve anyone who participated in misrepresenting regular vans as ambulances to the Ghanaian people.
