Miley Cyrus wears heels to the gym

Miley Cyrus has revealed that she wears heels to the gym.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker has revealed she is avoiding trainers and working out in heels because it helps her be better prepared for her live shows.

“My mantra, like any athlete, is: ‘Practice how you perform.’ That’s why I exercise on my heels,” she told W Magazine. “The gym looks really cool, but then I have my ivory Gucci slingbacks because they remind me of Marilyn Monroe. I usually train in heels. I’m interested in feminizing the training room because so much of the training equipment is ugly.”

She continued, “I definitely have a personality: an expanded, fully realized version of myself that I tap into as an artist.”

When the reporter noted that Miley had become “the source of fitness inspiration on the Internet,” the 31-year-old cited two reasons for her strong physique.

“My lifestyle is extremely clean. Sobriety plays a big role in that,” added the star, who got sober in 2020.

Elsewhere in the interview, Miley recalled a time when her mother Tish Cyrus helped Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger with a fashion crisis backstage at a Stand Up to Cancer benefit many years ago.

“Nicole Scherzinger’s jeans were too big for her, so my mom went to H&M and bought her a gold studded belt so she could perform,” she said. “My mom still has that belt. I was sitting in her closet the other day and I was like, ‘Why the hell do you have this gold studded belt that was for Nicole Scherzinger?'”
