Lorraine Kelly has shared a heartwarming update about her mother Anne, who has been struggling with her health since being diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome.

ITV presenter Lorraine, 64, uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday a cheerful image of herself beaming next to her ‘indomitable’ mother in a cozy restaurant.

Posing with a giant profiterole, the mother-daughter duo appeared in good spirits as they enjoyed their blissful Bank Holiday weekend.

Bursting with pride, a supportive Lorraine wrote in her caption: “Mum keeps challenging everything and everyone!! I took her for lunch in Glasgow and we had a great time. We even managed to go for a little walk.”

The TV presenter continued: “She is the definition of indomitable!! So proud of her.”

Anne was also rushed to hospital in August 2022 after she was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome – a condition that causes the kidneys to stop functioning properly.

The ITV broadcaster previously told HELLO!: “Until she became ill, mum was a very active and independent 80-year-old who enjoyed going to her book club and taking gym classes and learning German, so it was difficult for her to be on the radio. are. strong medication and not being able to do as much as before.”

It’s been an exciting few months for Lorraine and her family. Their clan is about to expand when Lorraine’s daughter Rosie welcomes her first child, a girl, with her boyfriend.

Lorraine’s daughter Rosie, who she shares with her husband Steve, shared her joyful baby news in April and chose to announce the news with a beaming photo of herself cradling her blossoming baby bump.

She also shared a heartwarming image of her baby scan taken at 12 weeks.

Excited by her daughter’s update, Lorraine said: “THE most exciting thing to ever happen in our family! I can’t wait to become a grandma and so proud of Rosie and her Steve.”
