The UAE has gained strong positions recently Travel and Tourism Development Index 2024issued by the World Economic Forum (WEF), highlighting the country’s infrastructure and services.

The country ranks fifth worldwide and first among Arab countries in road quality, ninth globally and first among Arab countries in efficiency of port services, and tenth worldwide and second among Arab countries in the efficiency of public transport services.

This is evident from a report published by the state news agency. WAM, Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, attributed these achievements to the forward-looking vision of the UAE leadership, emphasizing the country’s strategic planning and long-term goals. “These achievements reflect our proactive approach and strategic planning across sectors and reaffirm the UAE’s ambition to become a globally recognized center of innovation and excellence,” said Al Mazrouei.

He added: “We are committed to developing vibrant sectors and positioning the UAE as a leading destination for business and leisure. A high ranking on global indicators directly contributes to increasing the confidence of international investors looking for a reliable business environment.”

Hanan Mansour Ahli, director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, also commented on the report. He said: “The results of the report underline that the UAE has a well-developed infrastructure and the highest standards and best practices across the board. The UAE has become a benchmark for the quality of roads, public transport and port services. This will help attract foreign investment and increase GDP.”

The report underlines the UAE’s efforts to strengthen its infrastructure, making it a competitive and attractive destination for international business and tourism.

Earlier this year, WEFs 2024 Global Future Opportunities Index also rated the UAE as one of the leading countries in global competition.
